Looking for a home
PLEASE help find little Tripod (the little three-legged GSD cross a home...) He is such a sweet guy and fantastic with other dogs, cats and people. His little white friend was homed a while back but he keeps being overlooked and CLAW is overcrowded with dogs and lots (and lots) of pups! For some inexplicable reason, no one gives a second glance at little Tripod, and they can’t keep him indefinitely!

URGENT!
Please help foster these little girls. They do not have to go together. They really deserve a clean, warm environment after what they have been subjected to!

Imagine these 2 dogs living in a small concrete enclosure measuring approx 2m x 2m.

Imagine sleeping outside in the cold, with NO kennel.

Well, imagine no more, this is exactly where these two kids have been living for several months, if not longer.

The Maltese is 1yr old, the Jack Russell is under 2yrs old.  They are extremely friendly and in desperate need of love and a warm bed to sleep in.

needhome1.jpg

I fetched them this morning and they are currently at my vet in Oakdene – South of Johannesburg.  They have been inoculated, dewormed, and the vet said they are generally in good health.

needhome2.jpg

Please, if anyone can take them into foster care it would mean a great deal to all of us. These poor kids are currently being caged at the vet until help arrives. They need to go where pets are sterilized because they are not as yet. (we will sterilize them just as soon as we can get them into foster care.)

Kindly contact Brenda on 083 707 7204 if you can help.  Thank you in advance!

I have a little miniature sausage dog that needs a home.  My brother can’t keep him because he’s moving and there are no pets allowed.  He is the sweetest little thing.  He is fully grown in the picture attached.  I can’t get it over my heart that he ends up at the SPCA.
Please circulate and if someone is interested they can contact me.  There are obviously no costs involved.

June is a gorgeous, 3-year-old female ginger cat (part Maine Coon) who desperately needs a home. She is the most loving and adorable kitty, but we cannot keep her because our dogs try to attack her. She currently has run off half of our fenced-off garden, but as we will be moving into a complex soon she won't have enough space and we URGENTLY need to find her a new home. So many tears have been shed over our incredible cat, please, please can you help us by contacting fluffy@tiscali.co.za or 0825537595.

June has been spayed and has had all her vaccinations. Please e-mail anyone who may be able to help with our current predicament... we would love it if June could go to a home of animal lovers, people who will dote on her as much as we have in the past, and who will love her company as much as we do. She's big on socialising, is fine in the company of dogs (as long as they are fine with her company) and loves being outside. She is truly an indescribable personality and she would soon become an essential part of any family. Please someone who is certain of a forever home; She has had so much to adjust to since coming from Kitty Haven and before that... I hope that someone can open up their hearts to our fuzzy ball of love. Thank you, Jenna.

Hi All

We (the Kiffs) are writing to you hoping you might be able to help us with the sad situation concerning our lovely dog Melody; we know you all like dogs.

In August 2007, Ringo, our Dalmatian, gave birth to eight beautiful puppies. We easily found homes for all of them, mostly with families from within the school community. A little over six months later, Melody, one of the eight pups (and the most beautiful of them) was returned to us because she was deaf.  Despite her loving nature and beautiful looks, the owners didn't want her anymore, probably because she's not a great guard dog!

In the following weeks, Melody settled in very nicely with us, and quickly joined our four other Dalmatians. She has a lovely nature and likes to keep close physical contact with members of the family (perhaps to compensate for her deafness). Despite her disability, she is very alert, and like most Dalmatians, loves playing with children, chasing butterflies in the garden and curling up in comfortable spaces. With her sweet spotty face, gentle brown eyes, lovely smooth coat and a beautiful build, she also looks stunning (see pics attached).

However, in the past few months, as she started to reach maturity, our four Dalamatians started to regularly turn on her, mostly because she couldn't hear their growls and warning signals. Last week, one of the older Dalmatians attacked her and injured her. She tried hard to defend herself but came away with many puncture wounds. We raced her off to the emergency vets where she received several stictches. She recovered remarkably well considering the extent of the fight.

We now cannot risk bringing lovely Melody back into our home as we're afraid she may not survive the next attack. We have thus had to make the very difficult decision to find a new home for her - one where she is safe from large dogs who bully and attack her.  She is currently at FORA (Friends of Rescued Animals - an NGO with a no-kill policy http://www.fora.org.za <http://www.fora.org.za/> ) in Roodepoort where she is patiently waiting for someone to adopt her. She would make the loveliest pet for a person, couple or family with children but with no large dogs. Because of her lively nature, she would also be best in a patient and compassionate family that  understands her special needs. She would also make a very dear companion for life. She is sterilised, in great health, is up to date with her vaccinations, is house trained and is a year and a half old.

If you think you might be the right person to adopt her, or know someone who might be, please call us on 084 333 0681 or FORA on 082 336 5568.  Or else, please take a moment to forward this email to your contacts in Gauteng; we need to try everything to give his dear animal a loving home.

I was wondering if you could help us. A friend of mine and a fantastic human being needs help. About two weeks ago Jasper and his life partner Francios took their Husky dogs out for a jog.  Jasper was running with Nushka and Storm (the strong runners) while Francios had the other easier to handle one.

Not sure what happened, whether Nush and Storm saw a velt rabbit or what but they pulled so hard they broke the clips on their leads and broke loose.

Francios ran back home with the other dogs and got the car while Jasper chased after Nushka and Storm. Anyone who knows Huskys know how fast and powerful they are so it wasn't long before they were out of sight. They run the same route each night so if anything like this every happened they'd know their way home, this did happen.

Long story short these two babies having been missing for a while now. It has been a real team effort in their search for these two dogs, a touching story on how when these guys asked for help and they were surrounded by people willing.

All their friends, the people from the Siberian Husky Rescue Group everyone they know have pulled together in search for these dogs.

Day and night they have been driving around, handing out flyers, contacting radio stations but to no avail, paying for ads in the papers, put flyers in post boxes, paid people to hand out flyers, put posters up all over.

They were spotted once and the whole search team dropped everything and went there. No luck. These guys have not stopped looking and praying for their return since then.

I have a very special bond with both these huskies & I can’t imagine life without them. They have to come home, no matter what it takes.

Anyone who has spotted them please phone Francios on 084 800 8331 or Jasper on 083 231 2290. There is a R1000 reward per dog

Regards
Jasper
